KINGSTON, Jamaica – Six-time champion Omar Walker on Chandra’s Law was just able to get the better of four-time champion Dane Nelson on Badgyalriri in a pulsating and riveting finish to the Caymanas Monday ninth.

Both horses trained by champion Anthony Nunes were engaged in a three-year-old (non-winners of two) call for fillies only at 5 ½ furlongs.

It was another Nunes trainee, Vanessa (Dick Cardenas) who took control on the front end followed by Heart of the Sea (Abigail Able) with Chandra’s Law following. Badgyalriri raced in mid-pack at this time.

Vanessa shook off Heart of the Sea rounding the final turn as Chandra’s Law and Walker got into the groove entering the stretch drive.

Chandra’s Law got by Vanessa but soon after gaining the upper hand Badgyalriri came a calling and in the drive to the line it was Walker and Chandra’s Law by a nose over Badgyalriri and Nelson. Vanessa ended up in third place.

It was a special day for Nunes as he finished 1-2-3-4 in the seventh race and 1-2-3 in the ninth, a rare occurrence anywhere in racing.
