KINGSTON, Jamaica - Wow Wow, a far-striding colt, continues to grow from strength to strength after posting another bold winning performance on a sloppy track, to mount his fourth-consecutive win from five career starts.

Running with the calm disposition of a seasoned campaigner, Wow Wow — Casual Trick - Sarah Barracuda — under Ameth Robles negotiated six-and-a-half furlongs (1,300m) in a smart 1:19.0 to win by 12 ¾ lengths in the Juvenile Sprint Graded Stakes event for native-bred two-year-olds.

The event was sponsored by Konka Energy Drink and was contested on opening day of the inaugural LASCO Distributors Limited two-day Superstakes Racing Carnival at Caymanas Park on Saturday.

The attractive-looking colt ranks as an exciting classic prospect and after watching his bay colt demolish a quite capable seven-horse field of juveniles, breeder/owner Michael Bernard was ecstatic.

“We sincerely hope that we can keep him healthy so that he can continue to prosper and to progress to as far as he is ably capable. I am particularly pleased because it is a very impressive run, it is a sloppy track and to do 1:19.0 on a sloppy track like this running as a two-year-old for the fifth time is most impressive. I am sincerely hoping that we can keep him healthy so that he can continue to win everything in front of him,” Bernard said.

“I am also pleased, not as the owner but the breeder as well, who actually brought the mare Sarah Barracuda from the United States to Jamaica as part of my programme to improve racing when I had difficulty getting quality horses from the breeding farms,” Bernard added.

He continued: “Well, let me put it this way, this trainer and I began to form an alliance since 2012 when I changed to his stables and the following year, I was the leading owner in Jamaica. We continued to move from strength to strength. There was a little mishap the following year. “However, since that time we have been doing fairly well, as he is a quality conditioner of horses. I must also add that I must thank grooms and other workers and stable hands who have helped us with getting this horse to perform as it is doing,” said Bernard.
