KINGSTON, Jamaica – Nakamura closed a three-year-old double for trainer Lawrence Freemantle at odds of 3-2 in the Caymanas Wednesday ninth. Winning jockey aboard Nakamura was also doubling up on the day. Freemantle had previously won the other three-year-old event on the day with Lion Talk.
The Caymanas Wednesday ninth was for three-year-olds who are all maidens.
Morse Code (Anthony Thomas) took off into the lead which he held coming into the straight of this six-furlong race.
With about ½ a furlong to go, Nugent brought Nakamura into the reckoning and the bay colt responded by kicking on to win by 1 ¼ lengths as Avenging Angel finished well for second with Morse Code third.
