The ninth race of ten on Saturday, June 13, 2026, honours the outstanding thoroughbred Liu Chie Poo.

The event is an Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over one mile.

Nine horses are entered to contest this trophy call. The Quick Galloper’s take on the possibly outcome is shared below in draw order.

1 – THE GENERAL

Since stepping into Overnight Allowance company, The General has found the going far too tough. His recent runs have been uninspiring, with little to suggest a turnaround in fortunes. Unless he produces something completely unexpected, he is likely to trail home once again.

2 – CAPTAIN SPARROW

Captain Sparrow has consistently struggled at this level, unable to match strides with stronger rivals. His form line offers no encouragement, and this assignment appears another uphill battle. He will need a dramatic improvement to feature meaningfully.

3 – KING PIYE

King Piye enters this contest with little to recommend him. His record shows no indication of competitiveness against this grouping, and he is expected to be outclassed. A minor placing would be a surprise.

4 – INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD

Now under the care of the in-form trainer Peter-John Parsard, Intrestntimesahead brings intrigue to this race. A former Classic winner, he has been sharpening up in the mornings and looks primed for a strong effort. The mile trip suits him perfectly, and with Parsard’s touch, he must be considered a leading contender for the trophy.

5 – MOJITO

Mojito is widely regarded as one of the most talented locally bred horses of recent years, though his career has been blighted by recurring health issues. He returned on April 18 in the Saint Cecelia Cup, finishing fifth behind Sir Don, but has since been training with renewed purpose. His class is undeniable, and if he is anywhere near his best, Mojito has the ability to outgun these rivals and secure victory.

6 – SHEER DELIGHT (USA)

The lone foreign-bred in the line-up, Sheer Delight has not been firing on all cylinders of late. Still, his pedigree and past flashes of ability suggest he cannot be dismissed outright. Against eight locals, he may find conditions challenging, but a bold showing is within his reach if he rediscovers form.

7 – BLUE VINYL

Blue Vinyl comes into this race off a strong effort when beaten just a length by Is That A Fact over nine furlongs on May 10. Dropping back to a mile, he should be even more effective, and his recent workouts indicate readiness. With proven stamina and tactical speed, Blue Vinyl is expected to be right in the thick of things and is a genuine threat for top honours.

8 – PROVIDENT

Provident has not shown the consistency or quality needed to trouble rivals at this level. His chances of making an impact are slim, and he is likely to be left behind when the race unfolds.

9 – SUPREMASI

Supremasi has been below his best in recent outings, but he remains a horse capable of springing a surprise. His past performances show flashes of competitiveness, and if he finds his rhythm, he could sneak into the frame. While not among the favourites, he is not to be entirely discounted.
