Mohanlal, a bay colt born on April 7 by Casual Trick out of Raise Your Voice, achieved his fourth career victory on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Trained by Richard Azan and ridden by Eric Haughton, the colt delivered a convincing performance in a six-furlong contest for three- and four-year-olds in the non-winners of four category.
By virtue of this latest triumph, Mohanlal has now completed his conditions and officially qualifies to compete in Overnight Allowance company. Notably, he becomes the first member of this year's three-year-old crop to reach this milestone without winning a Classic race.
When the starter released the field from the gates, Victorious Links (Tevin Foster) set off at a breakneck pace, scorching through the opening two furlongs in 22.3 seconds under constant pressure from Eye of the Tiger (Abigail Able). Sitting unperturbed off the pace, Haughton patiently waited for the early speed to fade before mounting his challenge.
Eye of the Tiger backed out of the duel early, leaving Victorious Links alone out front until the leader's stamina gave out turning for home. Spotting the opportunity, Mohanlal made his move on the outside to take complete control of the race.
Once in front, Mohanlal galloped strongly down the stretch to pull clear, winning by 2 ¾ lengths. Tia Maria (Jaheim Anderson) ran on late to secure second, while Senor Biscotti (Omar Walker) finished third.
The victory underscores Mohanlal's adaptability, with his four career wins now spanning six furlongs (twice), five furlongs straight, and a mile.
The win marked trainer Richard Azan's 11th success of the 2026 season and jockey Eric Haughton's ninth.
