KINGSTON, Jamaica - The RonRon Trophy is the feature event on the 11-race card tomorrow (Monday, September 27) at Caymanas Park.

Eight runners have been nominated to contest this  three-year-old and upwards Restricted Stakes event (non-winners of four for local horses and non-winners of three for foreigners) over 6 furlongs (1,200m) for a total purse of $930,000.

Below is the analysis of each runner and their chances of winning.

  1. KING’S MAGICIAN: (3 ch g by Performing Magic – Regency) – Finished fifth behind Lure of Lucy and stablemate Hoist The Mast over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m) on September 11. With those two still present and with no appreciable change in the weights, King’s Magician will just have to wait his turn as he is racing in a non-winner of four races while winning only twice.
  1. DEN STREET: (3 b g by Northern Giant – All For Pleasure) – Returns to competitive racing after long break of 205 days. Den Street, who had a progressive start to his career as a two-year-old, has been hampered by health issues and is going to need this run to reacquaint himself with competitive racing especially after a break of 205 days.
  1. HOIST THE MAST (3 ch f by Blue Pepsi Lodge – Opulent) – Finished second behind Lure of Lucy over 5 ½ furlongs on September 11. Now going half-a-furlong longer, Hoist The Mast is going to find it difficult turning the tables. Yet if this well-raced filly is allowed to lead, her chances of winning will increase.
  1. SECRET IDENTITY: (3 b c by Bern Identity – Pomeroy’s Secret) – Talented filly who finished a good third in the Winston Griffiths Classic behind Santorini and Billy Whizz. Of her two wins to date, Secret Identity has won over six furlongs already but is a non-winner of two in a non-winners of four event.
  1. TRUE AL SKY: (3 b f by American Dance – Go Flint Go) – True Al Sky has done extremely well to get here but will need time to catch the pace in this group. Note the visor has been put on.
  1. NUCLEAR NOON: (3 b c by Nuclear Wayne – Noon It Is) – Was expected to do much better than finishing eighth behind Lure of Lucy on September 11. Is much more capable than that effort suggests and from a good break (slowly out on last) should be competitive throughout. With the pace expected to be hot, the extra half-a-furlong is going to suit the run-on style of Nuclear Noon, who has already clocked a good timing at this distance.
  1. CHANDRA’S LAW: (3 ch f by Sensational Slam – She’s Spectacular) – Can only hope for a minor placing and even that is a difficult task.
  1. LURE OF LUCY (USA): (3 b f by Uncle Lindo – Ring of Faith) – Lightly-raced but talented filly who was a winner on September 11. Then Lure of Lucy ran down Hoist The Mast in deep stretch to win by 2 ¾ lengths going 5 ½ furlongs. Lucy of Lucy will surely enjoy this additional half-a-furlong and with no major increase in weight, she can make it two wins in a row.
