KINGSTON, Jamaica - The third race on Saturday, September 28, 2024, is a three-year-old maiden special weight contest.

Six horses are entered to compete going eight furlongs.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment is published below.

1 - RUBY’S LIGHT is a bay filly (May 19) by Casual Trick out of Outrageous, trained by Gary Griffiths with Shavon Townsend in the saddle. Finished fourth on September 21 at 5 ½ furlongs. Going a mile, Ruby’s Light will be severely tested.

2 - LEGEND OF ZARRO is a bay colt (April 10) by Bern Identity out of Ransomware, trained by Al Brown with Tevin Foster riding. On August 31, Legend of Zarro ran on to finish second behind Small Boss by 4 ½ lengths going 6 ½ furlongs. Will be well-suited by the extra furlong and a half, thereby giving Legend of Zorro a winning opportunity.

3 - RAPIDA is a bay filly (February 16) by Casual Trick out of Giacomo’s Pride, trained by Victor Williams with Raddesh Roman aboard. Note that Rapida races with the blinkers on. Has not shown anything of significance in her six starts to date. That trend will continue.

4 - D BAY MACHINE is a bay gelding (March 3) by Storm Craft out of Face Tracker, trained by Jason DaCosta with Victor Valdez holding the reins. The distance of a mile will not trouble D Bay Machine, as he has consistently raced over similar trips during 13 career starts. The door is now wide open for D Bay Machine.

5 - SEA PLANE is a bay gelding (March 27) by Storm Craft out of Face Tracker, trained by Gordon Lewis with Aaron Chatrie as the designated rider. Note that Sea Plane races with the blinkers off. Based on his three outings to date, it is difficult to see Sea Plane winning this one.

6 - SOLO BLACK is a bay colt (March 14) by Northern Giant out of Late N Drafty, trained by Lawrence Freemantle with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. Cannot be given any worthwhile consideration for winning.
