KINGSTON, Jamaica – Laban, as the lone speed, used that attribute to score a resounding 7-1 victory in the Caymanas Saturday third.

Laban trained by Richard Azan and ridden by Oshane Nugent won at the Overnight Allowance level going six furlongs.

Nugent put Laban in front from the start with Drummer Boy (Abigail Able) providing the early challenge as Omar Walker on 1-9 favourite Solid Approach tracked closely.

Laban got rid of Drummer Boy leaving the three furlong point as Solid Approach moved to second close enough to Laban.

In the stretch drive, Solid Approach tried and tried but could not pass Laban who galloped resolutely, moving away in the last half-a-furlong to win by 2 ½ lengths. Solid Approach was second and Money Monster (Jordan Barrett) third.

Laban was winning for the fifth time from 18 starts.
