KINGSTON, Jamaica - KD Rocket, trained by Gary Subratie and ridden by Dane Dawkins, scored another win over the straight course in a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claiming ($250,000-$200,000) call at 5 furlongs (1,000m).
KD Rocket matched strides with Wifey Sez So (Samantha Fletcher), Stanislaus (Youville Pinnock), and Qurandero (Oneil Mullings) in the early exchanges. As the runners sorted themselves out, Stanislaus emerged as the lone leader, with Wifey Sez So chasing after the first two furlongs (400m).
Crossing the dummy rails, Awesome Boy (Natalie Berger) came into view but inside the final stages of the race KD Rocket outbattled Stanislaus for the win by a neck at the wire. Qurandero finished third in a time of 1:04.2.
