Jamaican jockey Javaniel Patterson with a chance ride won the first race of the 2026 season at Assiniboia Downs in Canada on Tuesday, May 12.
In a strong effort, Patterson got home with Fleet of Hoof, trained by Jerry Gourneau
The post-race report reads as follows: “FLEET OF HOOF had outside speed under pressure, cleared into turn, took inside, challenged in early stretch, held off outside rival in a long drive.”
