Set for Saturday, August 2, the 86th running of the Jamaica Oaks—open solely to three-year-old fillies—promises a testing ten-furlong duel around two turns.

With eleven contenders entering the fray, Quickgallopja.com and its YouTube partner, The Quick Galloper, offer insights into each runner to uncover the potential winner.

– MIGHTY GULLY: Tried her luck against the boys in the St Leger but faded to eleventh, trailing 23 lengths. Her two wins were over shorter trips, suggesting stamina limitations. A mid-field finish would be a win in itself.

– TOTAL VELOCITY: Still a maiden and visibly overmatched in this grade. While brave for lining up, she's unlikely to factor in the final outcome.

– ENTHUSIASM: Failed to fire in the 1000 Guineas over one mile. Her resume implies longer distances could suit better. First time over two turns, she’s has a shot for a piece of the money pie.

– COSTALIVIN: Broke her maiden in April but has struggled since, failing to impress in the non-winners of two group. Might influence early pace but not built to last the full ten furlongs—note her addition of blinkers.

– DANKA: Notched a second career win in June but hasn’t thrived beyond a mile. All signs point to distance being a major challenge. Unlikely to threaten in the stretch.

– PRETTY PERFECT: Ran credibly for sixth in the 10-furlong St Leger and now benefits from the absence of fillies that placed ahead of her. With proven stamina and jockey Shane Ellis aboard, she’s a genuine contender.

– LINGUIST: Finished second in the Guineas, eight lengths behind Burning Hedge. Training reports are positive and she’s versatile in pace. If she gets an uncontested lead, she could steal the race.

– WAYNE’SCHERRYLINKS: Way out of depth in the 1000 Guineas, finishing a distant ninth. The added distance likely deepens her disadvantage. Needs dramatic improvement.

– RILEY J: Sprint specialist whose worst outings are over extended trips. Ten furlongs is far beyond her comfort zone—an uphill battle awaits.

– WOMAN IN LOVE: Unbeaten in her last two but has never tackled more than 6½ furlongs. Beat Enthusiasm and Costalivin previously, but class and distance make this a tough assignment. A minor placing is the ceiling.

– ROARING KITTY: Raw and underprepared for this kind of test. Still developing and not ready to challenge seasoned rivals.
