KINGSTON, Jamaica - A field of just five competitors has gathered for the Eileen Cliggott Memorial Cup, a top-class race at 6 ½ furlongs in 2025.
This Graded Stakes/Open Allowance event is open to three-year-olds and older.
Although the turnout is low, the presence of top-rated contenders Atomica, Pack Plays, and Is That A Fact ensures a captivating race from start to finish.
The Quick Whisperer’s analysis of the anticipated final positions is detailed below:
1 - WALL STREET TRADER - After an uninspiring performance in the Mouttet Mile on December 7, 2024, where he finished 12th by 16 lengths, Wall Street Trader has shown marked improvement in his training. His recent morning workouts have been eye-catching, suggesting that he could significantly impact this smaller field and potentially turn his form around.
2 - ATOMICA – Atomica faced disappointment in the Mouttet Mile, reinforcing the belief that she struggles in crowded fields. Now returning to a more suitable field size, Atomica begins her career as a six-year-old. Known for her front-running style, her speed will be rigorously tested, with champion jockey Raddesh Roman having to properly rated, Atomica may find success.
3 - PACK PLAYS - Having finished third by 2¼ lengths over 5½ furlongs on December 24, 2024, and previously sixth in the Mouttet Mile, Pack Plays is recognized for his speed. He led in the Mouttet Mile but faded in the last two furlongs. The distance is ideal for him, and he will receive weight from one of his principal competitors, Atomica.
4 - MONEY MARKET - Completely out of his depth in this competition.
5 - IS THAT A FACT - This contender did not perform well in the Mouttet Mile, finishing in 13th place. However, Is That A Fact is capable of better results, and the reduced field size and distance may work to his advantage. His recent morning workouts indicate he is performing well, positioning him as a potential outsider, especially if the race pace becomes intense.
