KINGSTON, Jamaica - From the off the writing was on the wall and with less than a furlong remaining, claiming apprentice Raddesh Roman gave American Invader her reins.

The three-year-old chestnut Biondetti filly liberated herself when she flew out of the pack to land the gambit by taking apart Division One of the two-part Restricted Stakes event in a quicksilver time of 58.1 seconds for five furlongs (1,000 metres) straight on Saturday (October 12) at Caymanas Park.

“It was a most impressive win. We gave her rest as she was not a 100 per cent over the last three-four months, we gave her [American Invader] a rest and she has benefited.

“We then brought her back and gave her a few gallops that were nothing to write home about but from how she settled into her gallops I sensed that she was on the improve and then she got a favourable outside draw which is essential in all straight races.

“American Invader’s next level (Overnight Allowance) is not beyond her and over sprint distances, I think she should have a good chance of earning her keep,” said DaCosta.

American Invader who was sent off as the 1-5 favourite beat another American invader Alhamdulillah by 5 ½ lengths with fractions of 22.3 x 44.3 to complete the distance in a time of 58.1. Western Wheels was third another 1 1/4 lengths behind.
