Bugatti is the main threat
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Two more races restricted to three-year-olds will be up for decision on Saturday, April 2, 2022.
THE QUICK GALLOPER continues to follow the three-year-olds, with the first of these races - a maiden special weight at five furlongs round.
1 – GIMME THE LIGHT is a three-year-old grey colt (March 9) by Nasheet out of Skipping Sue trained by Gary Griffiths. This debutante has not excited at exercise and needs time. Of note is that the dam of Gimme The Light has already produced Lucky Nine and Flying Bullet.
2 – POTENTIAL is a three-year-old bay colt (January 24) by Traditional out of Breath of Life trained by Patrick Lynch. This bay colt has raced six times with no sign of him getting closer to the winning post. The learning curve continues.
3 – FRIEND OF THE FAMILY is a three-year-old grey gelding (April 27) by Here Comes Ben out of Win Bracelet trained by Ralph Porter. Friend of the Family has raced once and was 33 lengths behind the winner. Will be a total surprise if Friend of the Family wins this one.
4 – STORM A COME is a three-year-old bay colt (March 9) by Storm Craft out of Terra Marque trained by Patrick Lynch. Still waiting on the breeze to blow.
5 – NORTH LONDON is a three-year-old bay filly (May 8) by Savoy Stomp out of Right Marker trained by Ryan Darby. North London has done very little to date from his three starts. Note, North London races with the tongue tie on and first-time Lasix.
6- I REALISE is a three-year-old bay colt (March 28) by Northern Giant out of Regina Royale trained by Alford Brown. This colt has not raced in 111 days but on debut (December 12, 2021), I Realise was heavily backed at 3-5, but fell short when finishing fourth behind the winner Power of Faith. I Realise will benefit from the presence of Dane Nelson in the saddle and has looked much improved in the mornings. I Realise is poised to win. The dam of I Realise has already produced Hailey’s Comet, Original Train, A.P.I and Royal Approach.
7 – BUGATTI is a three-year-old bay colt (March 24) by Casual Trick out of Charmin Diaz trained by Anthony Nunes. This experienced sort always seems to find one or two better when he hits the track. On Saturday, Bugatti has a great chance of dislodging the maiden tag.
8 – EDDIETWENTYNINE is a three-year-old bay colt (March 12) by Northern Giant out of Goldstardancer trained by Gary Griffiths. This colt is gathering experience.
