HORSES TO WATCH ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 22, 2022

WHISPERER ONE

Bold Sami, Money Marshall, Helicopter, and Leo

KINGSTON, Jamaica – On the Saturday (January 22) card of nine races, THE QUICK WHISPERER has chosen four horses to watch carefully. These horses in race order are MONEY MARSHALL, BOLD SAMI, HELICOPTER, and LEO.

MONEY MARSHALL  races in the fifth event, which is a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claimer ($250,000 - $200,000) and a six-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three ) over five furlongs straight. There are 13 horses set to face the starter, with MONEY MARSHALL racing without a claiming tag.

MONEY MARSHALL runs almost exclusively down the straight course with his last visit to the winners’ enclosure coming on December 4, 2021, at the aforementioned distance. As is usually the case in races like this one, any number can play, and with MONEY MARSHALL drawn at 12, his chances of winning are increased. Expect MONEY MARSHALL to start at odds ranging from 8-1 to 6-1. Place MONEY MARSHALL, in the Exacta, Trifecta, Superfecta, and Hi-5 wagers.

BOLD SAMI races in an Optional Claimer ($550, 000 - $450,000) going the two turns of nine furlongs and 25 yards. Again, in such a contest, finding the winner is not an easy task with the likes of old stager ROYAL VIBES, GRAYDON, and SUNSHINE CAT expected to carry the bulk of the betting. There are two things that catch the eyes regarding BOLD SAMI – (1) there is an equipment change by trainer Byron Davis, who has taken off the visor for the blinkers, and (2) BOLD SAMI, from time to time, is on the track exercising. When  these two things are taken into consideration place BOLD SAMI in the Trifecta and the Superfecta wagers and make a small investment in the Exacta. Expect odds of close to 15-1 on this foreigner.

HELICOPTER races in the seventh race (one mile) at the Overnight Allowance grade. In his first attempt In Overnight on December 18, HELICOPTER finished sixth – 11 lengths behind the high-powered trio of ONEOFAKIND, BILLY WHIZZ, and EXCESSIVE FORCE. That was not a bad run the first time of asking by HELICOPTER. Returning tomorrow after a rest period of 35 days in lesser company, HELICOPTER can surprise. The distance is to his liking and a good effort is expected from this five-year-old gelding. Put HELICOPTER in the Exacta, Trifecta, and Superfecta bets. If bold enough kotch some tickets on HELICOPTER to win.

LEO races in the nightcap (ninth), which is a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of two) call at seven furlongs. LEO returns after a break of 98 days, which suggests that he will need the run before he can challenge for even a place on the board. LEO is a risky proposition, but what the heck, this is racing, which is always filled with glorious uncertainties. Put wagers on LEO in the Trifecta, Superfecta, and Hi-5. Expect long odds of about 20-1.

ALL THE BEST WITH YOUR BETS!
