The Independence Day Trophy, second race on Derby Day (August 6, 2026), is a 6 ½ furlong contest restricted to locally bred three-year-old non-winners of two, alongside maiden three-year-old foreigners.
Six are entered, five locals and one foreigner.

Showed stamina when finishing third over 9 ½ furlongs last time. The cut back to 6 ½ furlongs should suit better, but Abudar must demonstrate marked improvement to be considered a genuine winning threat.
2 – UNBELIEVABLE POWER
Chestnut filly (USA April 6) by Accelerate out of Fastest Spin

Eight career starts have yielded six runner-up finishes. That consistency speaks volumes. Against this field, the foreigner appears poised to finally break through and secure her maiden victory.
3 – SO LUCKY AM I
Bay colt (May 8) by Successful Native out of Ashtrid

Equipment Change – Figure 8 on, cheek pieces off
Won on debut but has failed to progress since. Without further development, So Lucky Am I looks unlikely to add another win here.
4 – RED THIRTY-TWO

Met Unbelievable Force on June 25 and finished behind. On current form, turning the tables seems improbable.
5 – TOM STRONG
Bay colt (April 20) by Bern Identity out of Getstorm
Trainer – Patrick Lynch
Jockey – Dane Dawkins
Scored on May 10 but faltered badly when stepping into non-two company. With tougher rivals again in play, Tom Strong is expected to struggle.
6 – WALL TO WALL
Bay colt (February 24) by Savoy Stomp out of Lady Shankari
Trainer – Carl Anderson
Jockey – Natalie Berger
Equipment Change – Visor and tongue tie on
Has yet to show the level of form required to contend. Significant improvement is needed before Wall To Wall can be considered a factor.
Unbelievable Force stands out as the most likely winner, with Abudar the best of the locals if progress is made. The remainder must raise their game to challenge.
