KINGSTON, Jamaica – The first race on Saturday, September 2, 2023, is a three-year-old maiden call going five furlongs round.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment on the ten horses entered to compete is offered below.

– SECURITY CODE, a bay colt born April 2, is sired by Wannatobeaplayer out of Jah Love. He is trained by Errol Burke and ridden by Shavon Townsend. Note: Security Code will race without blinkers. He is still learning.

– MORE VIGOROUS, a bay filly born January 17, is sired by Here Comes Ben and out of Glorious Chance. She is trained by Rowan Mathie and ridden by Chalrick Budhai. She didn't show significant promise in her debut but will now race with a visor and figure eight. Her first race was 21 days ago, and she went unnoticed.

– JAMES, a bay colt born March 28, is sired by Sensational Slam and out of Crown Princess. He is trained by Spencer Chung and ridden by Omar Walker. James will race without blinkers but with a visor and figure eight. Having finished third in both previous races, he may be one to watch in this average field.

– TUTS, a chestnut filly born March 19, is sired by Berlino Di Tiger and out of For Trixie. She is trained by Richard Azan and ridden by Dane Dawkins. In her last two runs, she has shown increasing potential for a win.

– ROARING THUNDER, a grey colt born April 16, is sired by Speith and out of Little Thunder. He is trained by Gary Griffiths and ridden by Anthony Allen. Racing with cheek pieces on, his best bet may be for a top-four finish.

– ALTITUDE, a bay colt born April 3, is sired by Strikewhileitshot and out of Miracle. He is trained by Patrick Fong and ridden by Charlton Riley. Altitude will race with a visor and tongue tie, and is currently still learning.

– TEQUILA FLIGHT, a grey filly born April 3, is sired by Speith and out of Alice and Trixie. She is trained by Steven Todd and ridden by Kerry-Gayl Robinson. She can be disregarded for calculations.

– DOUBLE THE CASH, a bay colt born April 23, is sired by Patton Proud and out of Dicolas Brat. He is trained by Peter-John Parsard and ridden by Raddesh Roman. Racing with a tongue tie on, more time may be needed for improvement.

– LADY RAMDULARIE, a chestnut filly born May 5, is sired by Midnight Hawk and out of Lady Najariya. She is trained by Howard Jaghai and ridden by Tevin Foster. With seven starts already under her belt, she's getting closer to success which might come on Saturday.

– MAY SELLINGTON, a bay filly born March 26, is sired by Natural Selection and out of Lucious. She is trained by Ryan Darby and ridden by Matthew Bennett. As a fairly consistent contender, she now has an opportunity to win.
