KINGSTON, Jamaica - In a performance that showcased his growing talent, three-year-old American-bred Funcaandun continued his impressive winning streak with another victory in the World Veterinary Day Trophy on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

The victory marked his fourth consecutive triumph, further cementing his status as one of the rising stars in Jamaican horse racing.

Owned by champion trainer Jason DaCosta and ridden by Shamaree Muir, Funcaandun effortlessly powered to the head of the pack in the Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward.

Despite facing pressure from rival Big Argument early on, Funcaandun displayed his class and determination by drawing clear down the stretch. His victory was never in doubt as he cruised to the finish line, winning by an impressive 16 and a half lengths.

"On a slow track clocking 1:40.0 very easy is awesome," said Funcaandun's owner, Carlton Watson, reflecting on the horse's remarkable performance.

"I am satisfied with the performance and we hope he continues to keep sound and continues to win and make us have a lot of fun. He is up in Open Allowance company now; I don't know when he will race again as the trainer decides on those things but he is improving and we are taking it race by race."

With each passing victory, Funcaandun's potential grows more evident. The chestnut colt by Klimt out of Fiftyshadesoffun has quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with in Jamaica's racing scene.

As he prepares to face stiffer competition in Open Allowance company, racing fans eagerly await his next performance and the chance to witness his further development.
