KINGSTON, Jamaica - The eighth race on Labour Day (May 23) is for three-year-old non-winners of two for locally bred horses, and also for foreign-bred maidens.

The distance to be covered is 5 ½ furlongs, with nine horses entered.

The Quick Galloper’s analysis is given below.

1 - KING’S CROWN is a chestnut colt (May 2) by Berlino Di Tiger out of Dancing Queen, trained by Steven Todd with Tevin Foster riding. Won on debut; King’s has not been able to reproduce that form against well-accomplished rivals. Will have to work hard to win this one.

2 - POPE’S LADY is a bay filly (USA February 8) by Catholic Boy out of Cheers To That, trained by Steven Todd with Paul Francis aboard. Did well when finishing a head third 12 days ago, behind Teflon Don and Magnificent Force coming down the five-straight chute. This foreign filly is getting settled, with a place on the board almost guaranteed.

3 - FRANCIS is a bay filly (March 13) by Savoy Stomp out of Jazzy Jet, trained by Richard Azan with Josue Osorio in the saddle. Francis was completely obliterated in The Portmore, finishing a distant 12th, 46 lengths behind the winner. This is the last opportunity for Francis to make any sort of statement before the 1000 Guineas on June 1.

4 - PAPER WORK is a chestnut colt (April 8) by Sensational Slam out of Abicadabby, trained by Gary Subratie with Omar Walker holding the reins. Got off the mark in style on April 1, but was smashed in The Kingston against the best of the three-year-old crop. Paper Work is being given a final chance to prove whether or not he can handle rivals in the 2000 Guineas. Still, Paper Work cannot be completely disregarded.

5 - NERISSA’S ANGEL is a grey filly (February 20) by Midnight Hawk out of Amicable, trained by Alford Brown with Oshane Nugent the designated jockey. Note that Nerissa’s Angel races with the blinkers off, and the visor and figure eight on. A winner on debut (February 25) but has not been able to reproduce that kind of effort. Can be safely left behind.

6 - SIPPIN ON SUNSHINE is a bay filly by Sunshine N Shadow out of Casual Drink, trained by Nicholas Wehby with Shavon Townsend riding. Enters the region of non-winners of two for the first time. Sippin On Sunshine will gain valuable experience.

7 - MOTIVATE ME BABY is a chestnut filly (USA May 12) by Union Jackson out of On Board, trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen aboard. This foreign filly has been catching birds during morning exercise. Morning onlookers are reporting that Motivate Me, Baby, is of some worth and is expected to be close when the winning post arrives.

8 - MAGNIFICENT FORCE is a dark bay filly (USA May 12) by Cloud Computing out of Cocktail Cruise, trained by Philip Feanny with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. Note that Magnificent Force races with the blinkers off and the visor on. Has finished second by three lengths, and second by a short-head in her two starts to date. Having gotten accustomed to the local track, Magnificent Force with the equipment change is the one to beat.

9 - MIDNIGHT FLIGHT is a grey filly (May 8) by Midnight Hawk out of Honeymoon Bay, trained by Donovan Plummer with Jordan Barrett holding the reins. This filly was completely off-course in the Thornbird Stakes. Midnight Flight returns to the solid ground of non-winners of two, where she has the possibility of earning.
