KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Jamaica Day race meet got off to an expected start when the 1-2 favourite Let Him Fly duly obliged in a three-year-old and upwards Claiming ($750,000 - $600,000) contest going 7 ½ furlongs.
Trained by champion Anthony Nunes, who with this win has once again assumed the lead in the championship, Let Him Fly ridden by Tevin Foster was kept off the early lukewarm pace.
Then after 4 furlongs were completed, Foster decided that he could wait no more by pushing Let Him Fly to the front.
Thereafter, it was not a race, as Let Him Fly powered away to win for the fifth time in his career by 5 ¾ lengths.
Mirabilis (Robert Halledeen) was second and Storm (Oshane Nugent) third.
Let Him Fly was claimed after the race in 28-way shake.
