KINGSTON, Jamaica – It could not have been a better day at the races for returning jockey Dane Nelson and title chasing trainer Anthony Nunes.
Both had the unique distinction of winning five races on a single race day when Legality (2-1) recently purchased by Nunes from Philip Feanny won the fifth running of the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission Trophy which was for horses at the Overnight Allowance level. The race was competed for over seven furlongs.
Three of Nelson’s winners were for Nunes – Royal Approach, Princess Ava and Legality.
Legality raced in mid-pack for most of the backstretch before going wide at the top straight. Despite being on the wide outside, Legality got into full drive and powered home to defeat stablemate Earn Your Stripes (1-1) with My Elle Belle taking the third slot.
The winning time was 1:25.0.
