KINGSTON, Jamaica – Running probably her best race ever, Exhilarate trained by Anthony Nunes produced a run of pure speed at odds of 25-1 to put away the howling 1-9 favourite Chace The Great to win the eighth race at the Park moments ago.
It was a chance ride for jockey Anthony Thomas as he kept Exhilarate busy on the lead coming down the five-straight course during the Open Allowance event.
Then Exhilarate got going and it was over and done with in a rather quick time of 58.3 seconds. Exhilarate won by a comfortable five lengths. Second went to Patriarch with third going to Superluminal.
Chace The Great who ran no race at all was fourth.
Exhilarate provided Thomas with his second winner on the day.
