KINGSTON, Jamaica – The seven-furlong Eros Trophy has brought together eight of the top flight horses currently in training in a fitting tribute to the former Horse of the Year.

As usual, THE QUICK GALLOPER begins with eliminating those horses entered who have no realistic chance of winning. These include Eagle One and Legality.

Having decided that Eagle One and Legality are out of this race, the rest namely Father Patrick, Oneofakind, Duke, Crimson, Sentient, and King Arthur are all in with a good chance of winning.

Father Patrick is the obvious speed in the race and will lead. There is no serious contender to go with Father Patrick meaning that the rest will have to catch him plus his trainer Ian Parsard is in the pink of form and Father Patrick has received a nice dip in the weights.

Oneofakind is the top rated horse at the moment but while he seeks his fifth win from five starts, he is hampered with the onerous weight of 59.0 kilogrammes forcing his trainer to use an apprentice and not his usual rider Dane Nelson.

Yet Oneofakind is a dogged sort who will give his all and much more.

Duke burdened with 128 lb simply could not manage Father Patrick and company on June 5. Now expect a much better from Duke who now carries 119 lb.

Crimson is riding a good wave of form but while he will be running on it might be too late.

Sentient has been off the boil in recent times but his last two efforts when finishing unplaced should be thrown out of consideration. Sentient has enough class to make his presence felt in this one.

King Arthur is as tough as nails as witnessed by his last effort at 9 furlongs and 25 yards when he finished a close fourth behind Oneofakind, Crimson, and Hover Craft.

King Arthur will be effective at seven furlongs and will be close to the leader from the off and then make his move three furlongs out.

The QUICK GALLOPER’S CHOICE – an outsider Sentient.
