Having displayed her credentials in the Thornbird and The Portmore, Dream Catcher now faces her toughest test to date as she goes against 15 other three-year-old fillies all seeking Classic glory in the one-mile 1000 Guineas set for Saturday, June 6 at Caymanas Park.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the possible outcome of the first Classic in 2026 is shared below in draw order.

1 – LEXI LOU

Bay filly (June 3) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Herroyalhighness

Trainer – Gary Subratie

Jockey – Dane Dawkins

Priming at the right moment. Her strong gallop in the Portmore produced a fighting third. Since May 10 she has continued to impress in morning work. A genuine threat.

 2 – AWESOME KITTY

Chestnut filly (May 18) by Patton Proud out of Playful Kitty

Trainer – Winchester McIntosh

Jockey – Paul Francis

Only broke her maiden three weeks ago. Faces a steep learning curve stepping into Classic company.

3 – MINNIEHAHA

Bay filly (February 23) by Savoy Stomp out of Red Gold

Trainer – Robert Pearson

Jockey – Shaheem Gordon

Equipment – Cheek pieces on

Swerved badly on May 23, losing all chance, yet rallied gamely to finish third just two lengths behind colt Strong Aveenu. Working well since, and with cheek pieces added, cannot be dismissed.

4 – TAYLOR MADE

Grey filly (April 14) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Another Fury

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Robert Halledeen

The early‑season leader until stablemate Dream Catcher emerged. Her speed is unquestioned, but stamina over a mile remains the issue. Fought bravely for second in the Portmore. Must be ridden with precision.

 5 – GIVING THANKS

Bay filly (January 18) by Bern Identity out of Lightning Lily

Trainer – Philip Feanny

 Jockey – Reyan Lewis

Equipment – Visor off

Has not progressed as expected. Fifth in the Thornbird, eight lengths adrift of Dream Catcher. Trainer removes the visor in hopes of improvement.

6 – SKY IS THE LIMIT

Chestnut filly (March 8) by Bern Identity out of Ransomware

Trainer – Peter‑John Parsard

Jockey – Ian Spence

Slowly away in the Portmore, then closed strongly. A better start could see her in the mix. Morning gallops have been encouraging.

 7 – GULFSTREAM CAT

Bay filly (April 3) by Savoy Stomp out of Burning Clearance

Trainer – Carl Anderson

Jockey – Jemar Jackson T

he lone maiden in the field. Victory appears unlikely.

8 – CHARMING CHATTERBOX

Bay filly (February 4) by Successful Native out of Morning Glory

Trainer – Robert Pearson

Jockey – Demar Williams

Hampered on May 23 yet rallied for third, just 1½ lengths behind Strong Aveenu. At level weights with Dream Catcher, winning looks a tall order.

 9 – ALIYA’S WILL

Chestnut filly (April 27) by Hedge Fund out of Crème De La

Trainer – Michael Spencer

Jockey – Shane Richardson

Equipment – Figure 8 on

Debut win was promising, but subsequent efforts against Senor Biscotti and Dream Catcher were disappointing. Unlikely to feature prominently.

10 – DREAM CATCHER

Bay filly (May 12) by Bern Identity out of Double Jeopardy

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Tevin Foster

The standout of the crop. Dominant in both the Thornbird and Portmore. At level weights, she is the one they all must beat.

11 – AUSTOA

Bay filly (May 7) by Sunshine N Shadow out of The Lady Scored

Trainer – Fitznahum Williams

Jockey – Phillip Parchment

Little chance of troubling the principals.

12 – SOCIAL STORM

Bay filly (April 12) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Stormy Silana

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Omar Walker

Only one start to date, but it was an impressive win. Lacks seasoning, yet her early speed could influence the race.

13 – PIPPA

Bay filly (February 28) by Fearless Princess out of Anabama Slama

Trainer – Richard Azan

Jockey – Bebeto Harvey

Equipment – Tongue tie on

Returned in the Portmore but failed to cope with the heat of battle. The task is even tougher here.

14 – TIA MARIA

Chestnut filly (February 2) by Bold Conquest out of Zacapa

Trainer – Anthony Nunes

Jockey – Raddesh Roman

Reappeared on May 23 after a long layoff, finishing sixth, eleven lengths behind Strong Aveenu. That run should bring her forward, but fit and proper can have a major impact in the outcome of this race.

15 – VICTORIOUS LINKS

Bay filly (May 8) by Western Mirror out of Victory Turn

Trainer – Lawrence Freemantle

Jockey – Wesley Henry

Speed is her asset, but the mile is likely beyond her reach.

16 – ANOTHER WOW

Bay filly (April 10) by Casual Trick out of Sarah Barracuda

Trainer – Anthony Nunes

Jockey – Tajay Suckoo

Stumbled at the start in the Portmore and was not pressed thereafter. Versatile enough to sit close and strike late. A live contender if things go right.
