KINGSTON, Jamaica – Having to deal with injury issues, and being away for 206 days, foreigner Double Diva returned to competitive racing with a smashing victory in the Caymanas Saturday (April 9) second.
Racing for the third occasion with one win tick in her column, Double Diva (Anthony Thomas) spread-eagled her opposition in a three-and four-year-old (non-winners of four) event for local bred horses and a non-three for foreigners going five furlongs straight.
It was not much of a race as Double Diva trained by Jason DaCosta went straight to the front with no challengers on the scene, running easily in the final furlong.
Still, Double Diva was able to clock a fast 58.1 seconds with searing splits of 22.2 x 44.3. Double Diva won by 8 ¼ lengths.
Second, went to Power Ranking (Oneil Mullings) with Will The Conquerer (Chris Mamdeen) third.
