The ninth race on Saturday, August 22, 2026, pays homage to the stellar racing career of top-class filly Poorlittlerichgirl.

The fourth running of the Poorlittlerichgirl Trophy is set for horses at the Open Allowance level, open to three-year-olds and up. Six horses were originally entered to compete over 7 ½ furlongs, but the late withdrawal of D Head Cornerstone reduces the final field to five contenders.

The Quick Galloper analysis of the possible outcomes, ordered by draw order.

1 – KING PIYE

King Piye has done remarkably well to rise through the ranks to Overnight Allowance, but in the Poorlittlerichgirl, he finds himself completely out of his depth.

2 – RUN JULIE RUN

This high-class filly faces the starter for only the third time in 2026. Run Julie Run secured her eighth career victory on July 18 over nine furlongs and 25 yards, signalling a welcome return to her absolute best form. The 7 ½-furlong distance of the Poorlittlerichgirl is ideal for her tactical style; she has the speed to lead if she chooses or can sit just off the pace before making a decisive stretch move. Either way, Run Julie Run is the horse to beat.

3 – SUPREMASI

Steps up in class after a sharp victory on August 6 in Overnight Allowance over this exact 7 ½-furlong trip. Supremasi will almost certainly want to set the early fractions, but contesting the lead against a classy rival like Run Julie Run will be a stern test. He will need to produce a career-defining performance to pull off the upset.

4 – SENSATIONAL SOUL

Sensational Soul's best path to victory relies heavily on a strong early pace, which would set up the race for his strong late-closing surge.

5 – D HEAD CORNERSTONE

D Head Cornerstone has been withdrawn from the event.

6 – DON KWESI

Consistently delivers solid performances against some of the best horses in training. Don Kwesi is exceptionally versatile, boasting victories over distances ranging from 5 ½ furlongs to nine furlongs and 25 yards. He will need to be judiciously ridden, tracking just off the leaders, before making his bid in the home straight. The combination of an apprentice weight claim and key equipment changes (blinkers off, tongue tie on) should greatly assist his push for an eighth career victory.
