KINGSTON, Jamaica - The eighth race on Saturday, June 29, 2024, commemorates the memory of former champion jockey Hubert Bartley.

It is Division One of an Overnight Allowance call for three-year-old and upwards horses at seven furlongs.

The following is The Quick Galloper’s analysis of each of the nine horses entered provided below in draw order.

1 - BURLAP has been consistent since entering Overnight Allowance in December last year and finished just 2 ½ lengths behind Inspire Force and Milos, going 5 ½ furlongs on May 25. The distance of seven furlongs on Saturday is better for Burlap. He has to be given a reasonable chance of making the exotics.

2 - MARCH AND SHOOT has done well to reach this level but has not yet been able to deliver.

3 - NOMOREDEALS is still discovering what it is like to deal with this class.

4 - JOHNCROWJEFF cannot be given a realistic chance of winning. Note that Johncrowjeff races with the tongue tie on and the cheekpieces off.

5 - MILOS is in peak form, having finished second by short margins behind Inspire Force, both times going 5 ½ furlongs. This is the first time Milos has raced as long as seven furlongs in his last ten starts. Another effort is being put into placing Milos.

6 - BIG BIG DADDY is a permanent fixture in Overnight Allowance with not much to show. Note that Big Big Daddy races with the visor off and the blinkers on.

7 - SHE’S MY FRIEND has been reduced to filling races at higher levels. That experience might prove helpful in the future, but not on Saturday.

8 - POWER will play a part in the headlines, but will drop off afterward, as seven furlongs is not his ideal distance.

9 - DIGITAL ONE, after winning three in a row, faltered twice in Overnight Allowance, beaten by Wall Street Trader and Easy As A.B.C. Digital One returns with the visor on. With the distance up his alley and those two runs in his hoofs, he will prove challenging to beat.
