Curlin’s Affair, a chestnut colt by Perfect Curlin – Nuclear Affair bred/ owned by Michros, trained by Anthony Nunes and ridden by Robert Halledeen, slotted in second as Ballatelli (Javaniel Patterson) took off in front.
With three furlongs to go Halledeen pushed Curlin’s Affair to take over and the chestnut colt entered the last two furlongs of the straight well in front and looking unassailable.
Curlin’s Affair, who was burning at exercise before this race started to shorten in the final half a furlong which allowed the 48-1 chance T Brady to swoop down for second. Sir John finished third.
