KINGSTON, Jamaica – Coming with his ‘A’ game after many valleys in his performances of late and with the in-form Anthony Thomas perched atop, Crimson made light work of his 11 rivals to win the feature race – the United Racehorse Trainers Association Trophy just moment ago in the 8th of 10 races planned for today at Caymanas Park.

This event was for Restricted Stakes horses – three-year-olds and upwards and was run over nine furlongs and 25 yards.

At the off, as expected, it was Roy Rogers (Roger Hewitt – 29-1) who set off in front with Crimson (6-1) hugging the inside rails.

Down the backstretch it was still Roy Rogers in front but Crimson trained by Gary Subratie was taken back by Thomas to get a safer trip as Latapy (Reyan Lewis – 36-1) and Big Bang (Robert Halledeen – 9-2) tried in vain to challenge the spirited run of Roy Rogers. Passing the half-mile marker, Crimson was put on the outside as he began to make noticeable progress.

In the home stretch it was still the game and plucky Roy Rogers fending off all and sundry until Thomas angled Crimson to the inside rails and that move was followed by a quickening of his effort which saw Crimson rushing by to win by two comfortable lengths in a fast clocking of 1:54.3.

Roy Rogers was second with the running on Tricky One (Dane Nelson – 5-2) third.

This was a memorable victory for trainer Subratie as Crimson was his 600th winner while Thomas was winning his second on the day.
