KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Legal Light Trophy although having only six runners turned out to be a humdinger involving Crimson and the grand old man of racing Hover Craft. The Legal Light Trophy, the Caymanas Saturday ninth was competed for over nine furlongs and 25 yards for horses at the level of Open Allowance/Graded Stakes.

Awesome Treasure (Dane Dawkins) went to the lead followed by Eagle One (Dick Cardenas) with Crimson (Robert Halledeen), King Arthur (Anthony Thomas) and Nipster (Shane Ellis) following. Hover Craft (Jordan Barrett) raced at the back of the field.

Eagle One shook off Awesome Treasure going into the half mile turn with Crimson unusually close to the leaders.

Crimson, trained by Gary Subratie, demonstrating his love for the circular course went to the lead entering the straight and with neither King Arthur or Nipster to challenge it was left to the 11-year-old gelding Hover Craft to do so.

In the last furlong Crimson held on by a nose over Hover Craft with Nipster third.
