KINGSTON, Jamaica - Rum With Me, running with the visor off, made light work of rivals in a three-year-old and upwards Claiming ($750,000-$600,000) call at 5½ furlongs.
Rum With Me sat behind leaders after the gates opened, watching as Noble Impulse (Tevin Foster) and Denbigh Life (Samantha Fletcher) set the early pace.
The Fernando Geddes-conditioned Rum With Me continued to race behind runners navigating the half-mile turn, before hugging the inside rails and cutting the turn entering the lane.
Getting the run on the inside rails in deep stretch, jockey Reyan Lewis produced his mount and Rum With Me responded and won easily by nine lengths at the wire, ahead of Den Street (Roger Hewitt) and Custer (Anthony Allen). The final time for the event was 1:08.0 (23.1 x 46.3).
