KINGSTON, Jamaica - On Saturday, February 15, 2025, the raceday showcased a prized gathering of both former and the current champion jockeys, featuring in the line-up of ten races. Out of the eleven champions crowned over the past 25 years, seven jockeys were actively competing on the day.

Notably absent were retirees Charles Hussey and Trinidadian Brian Harding, who claimed their titles in 2001 and 2006, respectively. While Trevor Simpson, the winner of five championships with his last in 2003, remains active, several others are currently riding in North America, including Dane Nelson (2009, 2010, 2011, and 2021) and Anthony Thomas (2018, 2020, and 2021), who shared championships with Nelson.

The day's festivities featured Omar Walker (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, and 2017), Dick Cardenas (2011), Shane Ellis (who secured his second title in 2015), Christopher Mamdeen (2019), Dane Dawkins (2022), Reyan Lewis (2023), and the reigning champion, Raddesh Roman. By the end of the raceday, only Walker and Lewis missed out on the winners' circle.

Leading the pack with an impressive three victories was Shane Ellis, triumphing on Propellant, Easy Money, and Main Mistress.

Both Cardenas and Roman followed closely behind, each securing two wins. Cardenas achieved success aboard Sensational Gold and Wicked Cassie, while Roman’s victories came on Generational and Inspire Force.

Additionally, Dawkins notched a single victory with Charming Sound, and Mamdeen secured a win aboard Huntsman.

This raceday not only highlighted the skill and talent of these celebrated jockeys but also captivated fans with thrilling performances and intense competition on the track.
