The Chairman’s Plate, set for Saturday December 6, will once again bring together horses at the Overnight Allowance level over nine furlongs and 25 yards.
As anticipation builds, Quickgallopja.com revisits the twelve contenders from last year’s Chairman’s Plate, tracking their progress or lack thereof since that contest.
FIRST - RUN JULIE RUN
Few horses have shown the same determination as Run Julie Run. She has continued to progress since her 2024 appearance, though the influx of foreign talent has made life tougher. Just as she did last year, her connections may bypass the Mouttet Mile in favour of the Chairman’s Plate, a race that seems to suit her best.
SECOND - SHE’S A GODGIFT
This imported runner began her local campaign brightly, but her presence has faded in 2025. The lack of appearances suggests she has been hampered by significant issues, leaving her future uncertain.
THIRD - IMPRESSIVE FORCE
A horse of intermittent form, Impressive Force has raced only sporadically, never quite finding the consistency needed to climb higher.
FOURTH - SUPER ALEX
Reliability has become Super Alex’s hallmark. A regular at the Overnight Allowance level, he has raced 11 times this season, hitting the board on six occasions. His consistency makes him a familiar name in these ranks.
FIFTH - BLUE VINYL
Once a three-year-old Classic star, Blue Vinyl’s career has been blighted by health problems. Even so, flashes of his old ability remain, and he continues to be a factor when conditions suit.
SIXTH - MONEY MISER
Absent from the track for some time, Money Miser’s silence speaks volumes.
SEVENTH - GRECIAN FABLE
After a promising start, Grecian Fable has been retired to stud, closing the curtain on her racing career.
EIGHTH - FREEDOM STREET
Now trained by champion Jason DaCosta, Freedom Street remains in action but has developed the costly habit of standing in the stalls. Expectations are modest at best.
NINTH - MR SENATOR
Claimed after dropping into the lower ranks, Mr Senator has managed one win from six starts since. With 48 career runs, six victories, and earnings surpassing $5 million, he remains a seasoned campaigner.
TENTH - POSITIVE ID
Decline has been the story of Positive ID, whose performances have tailed off markedly.
ELEVENTH - EAZY PEAZY
Still around but offering little in return.
TWELVETH - ABILITY
The former Derby winner continues to battle health issues. In 2025, he has raced only three times, securing one victory. His overall record stands at seven wins from 20 starts, with career earnings exceeding $13 million.
