KINGSTON, Jamaica –The quest for a spot in the prestigious Mouttet Mile on December 2 continues as several horses vie for position in the Kaz Hoshay Trophy.

Taking place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, the race will feature 14 contenders covering six furlongs.

Here's a concise analysis of each entrant for your consideration.

- LABAN: Despite finishing out of the frame in his last seven outings, Laban's drop in class offers him a chance to regain past glory. Definitely one to watch, and note that he'll be racing without a tongue-tie.

- PRESS CONFERENCE: Consistently performing well since entering the Overnight level, recently placing second behind American Tap on October 21. Expect another strong run.

- ALEXA'S DREAM: Presently unable to compete with these rivals.

- CURLIN'S AFFAIR: A change in stables shouldn't hinder her chances; anticipate a place on the board. Racing without blinkers this time.

- RACE CAR (USA): Despite inconsistent recent performances, don't discount Race Car's potential if he returns to previous form.

- NAKAMURA: Probably safe to rule out, but reaching Overnight level is commendable nonetheless.

- MADELYN'S SUNSHINE (USA): Returning from a five-month hiatus to finish significantly behind American Tap and Press Conference on October 21, expect her to be ready for a better display, even if six furlongs may prove challenging.

- PRINCE SANJAY: Now at Overnight level, he faces stiff competition and might consider this an exploratory run.

- SUPER DUPER: Likely impactful only for the initial two furlongs before fading away.

- KP CHOICE: Aiming high and unlikely to be disgraced on his first attempt up in class.

- BIG JULE: Struggling to make an impact since returning from an extended break.

- EL PROFESOR: Aging and difficult to follow, but still competing.

- DUKE: Unsuccessful in two runs at this level, Duke needs to seize the chance for a winning run under these circumstances.

- HOIST THE MAST: Likely awaiting a more opportune race.
