KINGSTON, Jamaica – After trying and trying, Berlino’s Choice trained by champion Anthony Nunes is a winner. The three-year-old chestnut filly by Berlino Di Tiger out of Mete-Orite gained success on her tenth attempt in a three-year-old maiden event coming down the five straight chute.
From the off, Berlino’s Choice drawn at 10 in the 11-horse field, was taken to the lead by jockey Dick Cardenas. Dujour (Anthony Thomas) tried her best to put together a challenge but after hitting the main track it was all Berlino’s Choice, who moved further and further away from rivals to win by 4 ¾ lengths. Newcomer Last Bid (Reyan Lewis) finished second with Dujour third.
