KINGSTON, Jamaica – The sixth race on Saturday, May 20, 2023, is a three-year-old event for fillies only in which 11 horses are entered for the 7 ½ furlong distance.

The Quick Galloper’s analysis of the 11 runners is provided below for the benefit of readers.

– SHE’S STYLISH is a bay filly (May 24) by Stylish Jack out of Janet Classic, trained by Nicholas Smith with Sadiki Blake aboard. Note, She’s Stylish races with the blinkers on, and the tongue tie off. Her only start to date was not encouraging. Nothing better is expected.

– MPRS LINKS is a bay filly (March 29) by Admiral Alex out of Brewedtoperfection, trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis aboard. Slowly finding her was with some favourable runs, followed by indifference. The distance of 7 ½ furlongs is about right for MPRS Links, who should be among the deciders.

– LARDY KARMA is a bay filly (April 20) by Legal Process out of Lady Rakwalaay, trained by Fitznahum Williams with Omar Simpson in the saddle. Note, Lady Karma races with the visor on. Way behind these at the moment.

– MYSTIX CAT is a bay filly (March 1) by Silent Valor out of Medical Cat, trained by Carl Anderson, with Roger Hewitt aboard. Needs more time to get her act going.

– BELLA SOUL is a bay filly (January 19) by Soul Warrior out of Lady Belridge, trained by Gary Subratie with Omar Walker aboard. Has finished second in her last two runs, going this long for the first time in her four-race career. Might be a trifle long for Bella Soul, but given that she is racing against fillies only, is given every chance of winning.

– CASUAL TREASURE is a bay filly (April 10) by Casual Trick out of Peace By Peace, trained by Renex Burrell with Jerome Innis in the saddle. Note, Casual Trick races with the tongue tie off. Has no realistic chance of winning.

– ATOMIC ENERGY is a chestnut filly (February 5) by Patton Proud out of Nuclear Girl, trained by Gary Subratie with Bebeto Harvey aboard. Note, Atomic Energy races with the visor and tongue tie off. Way behind in all of her five starts. Will be no better in this one.

– SIMPLY SENSATIONAL is a chestnut filly (April 19), by Sensational Slam out of Simply Outrageous, trained by Al Brown with Javaniel Patterson aboard. Note, Simply Sensational Sensational races with the figure 8 off, and first-time Lasix. Her only outing to date has been non-consequential.

– ESSENTIAL QUALITY is a chestnut filly (April 16) by Sensational Slam out of Texas Missy, trained by Oral Hayden with Anthony Thomas aboard. Note, Essential Quality races with the tongue tie and figure 8 on. Heavily backed seven days ago but did not attend the party. The equipment changes should improve her chances of hitting the board.

– LAMBO GIRL is a chestnut filly (April 12) by Admiral Alex out of Absolute Justice, trained by Wilfred Chin with Ramon Nepare in the saddle. Did well to finish third by 1 ¼ lengths 13 days ago. That third-place effort was at four furlongs, now going much longer it will be difficult for this filly.

– HOT STEPPER is a chestnut filly (March 13) by Hedge Fund out of Crème De La, trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster aboard. Note, Hot Stepper races with the visor on. Hot Stepper is as consistent as they come with several advancing runs in her six-race career. She comes up against fillies at a distance just about right. Hard to deny.
