KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Abigail Able and Bearings and Accessories Limited yesterday (Tuesday, February 6, 2024),  signed a one -year brand ambassadorship deal at the company’s head office in Kingston.

Signing this deal were Able, and chairman of Bearings and Accessories Limited, Raymond ‘Mitta’ Rousseau.

“This agreement of band ambassadorship with one of our top female riders, is one we believe will help to motivate other riders and will be a credit to our company.

“Abigail will specifically represent our Q-8 band of industrial oil, which is mainly for industrial use, for use with heavy equipment such as trucks and other such equipment,” Rousseau, a longtime owner of race horses told Quickgallopja.com.

In response to this historic moment in her career, Able said she was delighted when approached by Bearings and Accessories Limited.

“Well, I’m literally feeling grateful,” she said. “Honestly, I’m feeling so grateful that they chose me because there are a lot of other jockeys there and they chose me to do the job.”

Rousseau then explained why the choice of Able.

“When Abby wins races, which is obviously a happy and joyous time for anyone, I like the way she conducts herself in the winner’s enclosure. You see how quiet and humble she is and not making it all about herself, and she recognises it’s also about the horse. I just like the way how she stands behind the animal and not put herself in front,” Rousseau said.

“She was around my very dear friend Wayne DaCosta for a long time and she is with his son now. There has been no break in their working arrangements and those are people I hold in very high standards so that says a lot about her character so I don’t need to say any more about that,” he added.

Able now joins Reyan Lewis, Tevin Foster, Javaniel Patterson, Phillip Parchment, and Dane Dawkins as jockeys with brand deals.
