KINGSTON, Jamaica – It seems that nothing can go wrong for leading rider Anthony Thomas at this time.

After completing a double yesterday (Sat, Oct 3, 2020), he continued where he left off in the first of eight races on the Sunday programme at Caymanas Park.

Atop the Steven Todd trained Mr Universe in a $650,000 - $600,000 claimer over the minimum round trip of five furlongs, Thomas moved down from the outside draw to attack early leader Polly B (Raddesh Roman).

After a brief encounter, Thomas pushed Mr Universe to take the initiative and it was done for the rest of the field.

With blazing splits of 22.3 x 45.3, Mr Universe was not for the catching in the straight winning by 5 ½ lengths in a time of 59.2.

Lord Ashton (Dane Nelson) ran on for second with Reigning King (Hakeem Pottinger) third.

Thomas with the win on Mr Universe is now 10 ahead of Nelson in the jockeys’ championship.
