KINGSTON, Jamaica – Leading jockey Anthony Thomas earned a double on the day when he won the Caymanas Saturday sixth on Fearless Champion.

Fearless Champion’s win came in a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of four) call travelling eight furlongs (one mile).

Trained by Jason DaCosta, Fearless Champion watched in the third spot as Let Him Fly (Jordan Barrett) and Battle Dancer (Paul Francis) vied for the right to lead.

After three furlongs Barrett pushed Let Him Fly ahead by two to three lengths. It was then that Thomas asked Fearless Champion to pick up the tempo and the four-year-old roan colt said responded by blowing  by Let Him Fly to gain the ascendency just before turning into the lane for the last two furlongs.

Thereafter Thomas kept Fearless Champion going to win by 2 ½ lengths with Helicopter (Chalrick Budhai) running on for second. Sencity (Tevin Foster) finished third.
