KINGSTON, Jamaica – Anthony Thomas was at his brilliant best when guiding the Wayne DaCosta trained Sensational Ending to victory in the Caymanas Sunday eighth.
Sensational Ending, a three-year-old chestnut filly by Sensational Slam – Pleasant Ending raced behind the speedy Rocket Lily (Omar Walker) with newcomer Mum, also a chestnut filly by Sensational Slam out of the former two-time Horse of the Year, St Cecelia in the mix on the outside with Aaron Chatrie in the irons.
Rocket Lily took them into the straight with Sensational Ending on the outside and Mum on the inside rails.
Rocket Lily faltered in the final half a furlong with Thomas bringing Sensational Ending to the boil and Mum in full stride.
With Thomas changing his hold effectively, Sensational Slam burst through to win by 1 ¾ lengths over Mum with Rocket Lily third.
This was the third winner on the day for Thomas.
