After an impressive start to her career, Imjustagirl, a foreigner, returned to competitive racing on Saturday, May 9, 2026, contesting seven furlongs at the three-year-old non-winners of three level.

The US-bred filly by Girvin out of Summer In Midway, trained by Jason DaCosta and ridden by Robert Halledeen, was quickly hustled to the lead once the starting barriers were released. From there, Halledeen stood tall in the saddle, as if on a planned excursion. Imjustagirl was never challenged, winning by an ever-extending 8 ½ lengths. Any Means (Tevin Foster) finished second, with Mulligan Man (Reyan Lewis) third.

The time recorded by Imjustagirl was a sharp 1:24.2, with splits of 23.3 x 46.4 x 1:11.4.

With two commanding victories from as many starts, DaCosta could not hide his joy. “Yes, it was another good effort by Imjustagirl. She is a really nice filly with a lot of talent. Once she keeps healthy, Imjustagirl will go through her conditions fairly easily, then we will find out the extent of her talent,” DaCosta said.
