KINGSTON, Jamaica – Abigail Able had to be at her best to earn her third win of the year on the Jason DaCosta trained Heart of the Sea in the Caymanas Saturday eighth.
That third win for Able came in a Maiden Condition event for three-year-olds covering furlongs.
Heart of the Sea was quickly out of the gates with Able endeavouring to keep a straight line coming down the chute.
Heart of the Sea held the advantage but challengers emerged in the last furlong in the form of Press Conference (Ruja Lahoe) and Ballatelli (Tevin Foster).
Using hands alone Able held on to win by three parts of a length. Second was Press Conference with Balatelli third.
Heart of the Sea was DaCosta’s second winner on the day and his 32nd since he started training locally at the end of April 2021.
