Race seven of ten on the card of Saturday, October 31, 2026, is designed for native-bred three- and four-year-olds that are non-winners of four, alongside imported three-year-olds and upward non-winners of three races.
This seventh event pays tribute to veteran and esteemed race caller Brian Rickman.
The Brian Rickman Trophy has drawn a competitive field of seven runners set to contest a distance of 5 ½ furlongs.
Below is The Quick Galloper’s comprehensive race analysis and projected outcome.
1 – SKY IS THE LIMIT
Three-year-old chestnut filly (March 8) by Bern Identity out of Ransomware
Trainer – Peter-John Parsard
Jockey – Shane Richardson
Equipment Change – Blinkers on, Figure 8 off
Last seen contesting the 10-furlong Jamaica Oaks 91 days ago, where her performance fell well short of expectations. Sky Is The Limit possesses early speed and is expected to dispute or control the pace right from the break. She will set the fractions and prove a tough catch for the chasing pack.
2 – SALUTE THE DON
Three-year-old chestnut colt (March 19) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Abicadabby
Trainer – Gary Subratie
Jockey – Raddesh Roman
Recognized as one of the more talented members of this year’s juvenile crop, Salute The Don ran with great credit in Overnight Allowance company (over the 5-furlong straight) following a testing assignment in the 12-furlong Jamaica Derby. He is far better suited when navigating the turn, and returning to a more manageable class level here, he should find life significantly easier than dealing with top-tier runners like Pepper Stepper and Of A Revolution.
3 – SUPER DAVID
Three-year-old bay gelding (April 16) by Patton Proud out of Storm Girl Trainer – David Powell
Jockey – Nicardo Carr
Following a below-par effort in the 2000 Guineas on June 7, Super David bounced back sharply to score a convincing victory over four furlongs on September 27. With only five career starts under his belt, he is sitting on the threshold of rapid development. His tactical versatility allows him to track the early leaders and strike when it matters most, making another strong bid likely despite facing this class grouping for the first time.
4 – MCMULLEN (USA)
Four-year-old chestnut gelding by Bucchero out of Moon Over Maui Trainer – Peter-John Parsard
Jockey – Dane Dawkins
Equipment Change – Blinkers off
A lightly raced imported contender who has consistently held his form, having tackled 5 ½ furlongs, the exact distance of this event, in his last three consecutive starts. Track watchers report that McMullen has looked sharp and energetic during morning exercise, and shedding the blinkers presents a prime opportunity for him to break through in the winner's circle.
5 – STRONG AVEENU
Three-year-old bay colt (March 19) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Ruby Rose Trainer – Patrick Lynch
Jockey – Tevin Foster
Produced an encouraging, close-up fourth-place finish last time out, a performance that came on the heels of an extended layoff. That fitness-building run will undoubtedly leave him in peak condition for this assignment.
6 – MULLIGAN MAN (USA)
Three-year-old brown colt (April 15) by Free Drop Billy out of Jelly Rose Trainer – Saqlain Roman
Jockey – Robert Halledeen
Equipment Change – Blinkers off
Mulligan Man has put together two consecutive disappointing outings, and current trend suggests a tough task ahead. The decision to remove the blinkers is aimed at sparking a turnaround and producing a vastly improved display.
7 – WAH A GWAAN
Three-year-old bay colt (February 13) by Aveenu Malcainu out of She’s Irie Trainer – Christopher Pierre
Jockey – Jaheim Anderson
Having struggled to make an impact in his two prior attempts at this level, Wah A Gwaan enters this race with questions to answer and will need to take a massive step forward to factor in the finish.
