The eighth race on Saturday, August 22, 2026, features three and four-year-olds non-winners of four races over six furlongs.

Of the eight original entrants, only one horse has three career victories, with the remaining field possessing two wins each.

The contest is now reduced to seven starters following the late scratch of Manoletti Majestic.

Below is The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the runners.

1 – EYE OF THE TIGER

Three-year-old bay colt (May 30) by Aveenu Malcainu out of Full Moon’s Enough Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Abigail Able

Returns to sprint company after setting the early fractions in the 12-furlong Jamaica Derby. Eye of the Tiger is a pure speedster who already possesses a victory over this six-furlong distance. With the jockey's weight allowance, he will be dangerous from the front and must be caught.

2 – VICTORIOUS LINKS

Three-year-old bay filly (May 8) by Western Mirror out of Victory Turn

Trainer – Lawrence Freemantle

Jockey – Tevin Foster

Enters off a sharp victory over six furlongs just two weeks ago. Victorious Links boasts early speed of her own, and while dictating the pace will be tough against this field, she remains a serious contender who cannot be overlooked.

3 – FIDELITY

Three-year-old bay gelding (March 28) by Bern Identity out of Hush My Darling

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Shaheem Gordon

Steps up to this level following a win over five furlongs straight. Given the fast pace expected up front, Fidelity will need to track the speed and strike late if the leaders tire. Winning off the pace will be a challenging assignment, but not impossible.

4 – MANOLETTI MAJESTIC

Manoletti Majestic is a late non-starter.

5 – TIA MARIA

Three-year-old chestnut filly (February 2) by Bold Conquest out of Zacapa

Trainer – Anthony Nunes

Jockey – Jaheim Anderson

Performs best over longer distances, though she did secure an early career win at six furlongs alongside her other victory over nine furlongs and 25 yards.

6 – BIGGER BOSS

Three-year-old bay colt by Bern Identity out of Woman Is Boss

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Robert Halledeen

Showed early intent in the Derby before fading, and his prior sprint form leaves a bit to be desired against this group.

7 – SENOR BISCOTTI

Three-year-old bay colt by Savoy Stomp out of Baby P

Trainer – Richard Azan

Jockey – Omar Walker

Was unplaced in the Derby, but maintains a consistent record when running at distances above 6 ½ furlongs. Shortening up to six furlongs makes this a tough spot for him.

8 – MOHANLAL

Three-year-old bay colt (April 7) by Casual Trick out of Raise Your Voice

Trainer – Richard Azan

Jockey – Eric Haughton

The sole three-time winner in the field. Mohanlal made little impact in the Classic races—the 2000 Guineas, St Leger, and Jamaica Derby—but is far better suited to this sprint distance. Dropping back down to this level, he is primed to secure his fourth career victory.
