Lesson By The Teacha To Continue

2026 3 Year Olds BLUE

The third race on Saturday, March 28, 2026, features foreign bred horses three and four-year-olds non-winners of three races and three and four-year-olds locally bred horses, who are non-winners of four races.

Six horses were originally entered to compete going six furlongs, but number six, Prodigious Power has been officially declared as a late non-starter.

The Quick Galloper’s assessment of the possible outcome is shared below in draw order.

1 – THE TEACHA (USA)

Three-year-old bay colt (January 17) by Thousand Words out of Flouncy Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Robert Halledeen

Made a striking debut on March 14 over 5 ½ furlongs, going straight to the front and never in danger. Since then, reports from morning gallops suggest steady improvement, and expectations are high for another winning performance.

2 – MULLIGAN MAN (USA)

Three-year-old brown colt (April 10) by Free Drop Billy out of Jelly Roll Trainer – Saqlain Roman

Jockey – Tevin Foster

Note – Mulligan Man races without the tongue tie

Already has three runs under his belt, including a victory. His continued progress in morning drills points to a strong showing, and he should be competitive throughout.

3 – HONOUR PRINCE

Four-year-old bay colt by Bern Identity out of Awesome Lucy

Trainer – Robert Pearson

Jockey – Tajay Suckoo

Once considered a prime contender for the Classics last year, with two wins and a promoted win in the Prince Consort Stakes. However, after an injury layoff and last racing on April 12, 2025, he may need more time to rediscover his best form.

4 – RICORICORICO (USA)

Four-year-old bay colt by Win Win Win out of Frosty Nightmare

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Reyan Lewis

Opened his 2026 season with a victory on January 1, his second from 11 starts. His recent workouts have been encouraging, and another solid effort is anticipated.

5 – ALCHEMY OF SOULS

Four-year-old grey colt by Spieth out of Emerald Belle

Trainer – Jason DaCosta

Jockey – Clive Lynch

Returns after a 112-day break. Known to prefer longer trips, six furlongs may prove too sharp, but this run should help build fitness for future engagements.

6 – PRODIGIOUS POWER

Three-year-old bay colt (May 25) by Global Campaign out of Ghostie Trainer – Philip Feanny

Jockey – Ian Spence

Note – visor fitted, tongue tie removed

Prodigious Power is a late non-starter.
