The eighth race on Saturday, November 22, 2025, features locally bred horses, three and four-year-olds (non-winners of four) and also for three-year-olds and upward foreign bred horses (non-winners of three).
Ten horses are nominated to face the starter over a distance of seven and a half furlongs. The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome, done in draw order is provided below for the benefit of readers.
1 – PRINCE ROY
A recent graduate to this level, Prince Roy has been learning quickly, evidenced by two respectable fifth-place finishes. His last victory came over seven furlongs, where he stayed on strongly. The additional half-furlong should suit him well, and the apprentice’s two-kilogramme claim further enhances his prospects. A runner who commands respect.
2 – AMERICAN AVIATOR
A natural front-runner who tends to weaken inside the final furlong in nearly all of the distances. The extra distance on Saturday is unlikely to play to his strengths. American Aviator may have to bide his time before striking.
3 – MINEOLA
Still adjusting to the demands of this grade. Needs more time and experience before making a serious impact.
4 – RICORICORICO
An underachiever to date. Having broken his maiden in March, Ricoricorico has threatened but failed to deliver consistently. With just one win from seven starts, he must improve significantly to add another success. A second victory does not appear likely on this occasion.
5 – PRETTY PERFECT
This three-year-old filly has struggled against older, more seasoned rivals. Since stepping up to this level, she has finished fifth and sixth in two attempts. That pattern looks set to continue.
6 – BIG BUZZ
Produced an eye-catching, gate-to-wire triumph over nine furlongs and 25 yards just over a month ago. Now stepping up against more experienced opposition, Big Buzz has the ability to feature but may find the challenge tougher this time.
7 – SENSATIONAL SOUL
One of only two runners in the field with three career wins. A Classic winner, Sensational Soul is particularly effective at this distance. Although only making his second appearance in this grouping, his proven class and adaptability make him a serious contender.
8 – MISS GROVE
The Canadian-bred filly has finished runner-up in two of her three starts at this level. She is progressing steadily and should continue to improve, though victory may come later rather than now.
9 – MARK MY IDENTITY
Chasing a hat-trick of wins, Mark My Identity confirmed his long-discussed potential when scoring on his first attempt at this grade. The seven-and-a-half furlong trip is ideal for this improving three-year-old chestnut colt. He is steadily emerging as one of the more promising members of his age group cohort.
10 – BOSS MAN
Likely to struggle against the stronger and more accomplished members of his three-year-old cohort. Needs more time and development before troubling the principals.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT
Prince Roy is improving and should not be underestimated, while Sensational Soul brings proven quality and class to the contest. However, the one to beat appears to be Mark My Identity, who is thriving at present and looks well suited to the distance. Expect him to continue his upward trajectory and secure another victory, with Prince Roy and Sensational Soul the main dangers.
