Race Two – Sunday, October 19, 2025 Two-Year-Old Maidens – Five Furlongs (1000m)
Eight juveniles are entered for the second contest on Sunday’s card, a sprint over the five-furlong round course reserved for maidens.
Below is The Quick Galloper’s full assessment.
1 – MIDNIGHT TRAVELLER
A chestnut filly foaled February 13, sired by Aveenu Malcainu out of Esperanza. Trained by Jason DaCosta, with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. Midnight Traveller races in the visor. Her lone start offered little encouragement, as she failed to show any spark or hint of competitiveness. Improvement is required, but the signs are not yet visible.
2 – GREEN PAINT
A bay filly born April 9, by Savoy Stomp out of Francia’s Pride. Trained by Saqlain Roman, partnered with Shane Ellis. Green Paint wears the figure eight. Debuted on August 9 with a distant seventh-place finish, never threatening the leaders. However, her recent morning drills have shown more purpose. A sharper performance is expected this time around.
3 – PROSPERITY SEN
A bay colt foaled May 20, by Aveenu Malcainu out of Sencity. Trained by Alford Brown, with Richie Shakes aboard. Though unraced, Prosperity Sen has been making steady progress in morning gallops. His pedigree and work ethic suggest he will be competitive soon, and this debut could lay the foundation for future success.
4 – VICTORIOUS LINKS
A bay filly born May 8, by Western Mirror out of Victory Turn. Trained by Lawrence Freemantle, ridden by Dane Dawkins. Another debutant showing encouraging signs at exercise. Victorious Links is still learning the ropes, but her development curve points upward. She may not be ready to win just yet, but she’s one to watch.
5 – MAYBELLE
A bay filly foaled March 29, by Sensational Soul out of Let’s Get It On. Trained by Jason DaCosta, with Jerome Innis holding the reins. Maybelle enters with the benefit of two solid runs—third on debut, then narrowly beaten into second. She’s one of the most seasoned and accomplished of this group, and her consistency makes her a leading contender.
6 – WAH A GWAN
A bay colt born February 13, by Aveenu Malcainu out of She’s Irie. Trained by Christopher Pierre, with Paul Francis in the irons. Making his first start, Wah A Gwan is expected to use this race as a learning experience. His pedigree suggests potential, but he’ll likely need time to find his footing.
7 – BLYTHWOOD
A bay colt foaled February 14, by Wow out of She’s An Introvert. Trained by Anthony Nunes, ridden by Raddesh Roman. Blythwood races with first-time Lasix. Has two runs under his belt, both resulting in fourth-place finishes. With experience on his side and facing a modest field, Blythwood could be a major player in the outcome.
8 – SENOR BISCOTTI
A bay colt born February 6, by Savoy Stomp out of Baby P. Trained by Richard Azan, with Demar Williams aboard. Senor Biscotti races without the visor. Still very green and in need of further development. Senor Biscotti has not yet shown the readiness required to challenge for top honors.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT
Maybelle stands out as the most accomplished and race-hardened juvenile in the line-up, and should be prominent when the decision is made. Blythwood, with two respectable efforts and Lasix added, is poised to improve and challenge. Green Paint and Prosperity Sen are the ones with upside, while the rest appear to be in the early stages of their learning curve. Expect Maybelle to lead the charge, with Blythwood and Green Paint in pursuit.
