The finale on the nine-race card of Saturday, October 18, 2025, is an Overnight Allowance call for three-year-old and upwards horses.
Travelling a distance of a mile, 15 horses have been nominated to race.
The Quick Galloper’s take on the possible outcome is provided for readers.
1 – LINGUIST
After winning the 10-furlong Jamaica Oaks, Linguist stepped into Overnight Allowance on September 20 and held her own against seasoned runners. She placed second, 2½ lengths behind the late Perfect Brew over 6½ furlongs. Linguist continues to progress, but now faces a deeper field. Drawn at post one in a 15-horse line-up, her positioning may limit tactical options.
2 – SISTREN TREASURE
The imported Sistren Treasure has not shown her usual form in recent outings. If she returns fit and focused, she could shape the outcome.
3 – D HEAD CORNERSTONE
Claimed after winning at the top claiming tier, D Head Cornerstone re-enters Overnight Allowance where the pace and class may prove too demanding.
4 – CAPTAIN SPARROW
Having fulfilled his conditions; Captain Sparrow now steps into Overnight Allowance for the first time. This marks the beginning of a new phase in his development.
5 – I DREAM AGAIN
Winner of both the St Leger and Jamaica Derby, I Dream Again debuted in Overnight on September 28 but faded after three furlongs. That effort suggested discomfort or misfiring. Connections expect a more competitive showing this time.
6 – OIL MACHINE
Finished fifth and seventh in his first two Overnight attempts at 7½ furlongs. Still adjusting to the pace and pressure of this level.
7 – SUPREMASI
Already a winner in Overnight, Supremasi has settled into the class and should be considered for a placing.
8 – WHIZZ KIDD
Withdrawn late. Will not compete.
9 – MACK AND ROME After 22 starts, Mack And Rome finally earned his Overnight eligibility. He now begins the process of adapting to stronger competition.
10 – IS THAT A FACT
Drops in class after mixed results in higher ranks. Carries top weight but benefits from a four-kilogram apprentice claim. Could be decisive in the final stages.
11 – DIVINE FORCE
Returns after a 105-day layoff. Last seen finishing third behind Desert of Malibu and Run Julie Run. Despite carrying top weight, Divine Force’s prior experience in this class and above warrants attention.
12 – SHEER DELIGHT
Contended early in the recent Gold Cup before fading to tenth. Previously won in Overnight on April 12 and has faced top-tier rivals. That exposure places Sheer Delight among the more seasoned entrants.
13 – RUN JULIE RUN
Arguably the leading locally bred runner, Run Julie Run has held form against top-level horses including Commandant and Desert of Malibu. Now facing a lighter field over her preferred mile, she is well-positioned to add to her seven-win record.
14 – INTRESTNTIMESAHEAD
Struggled in higher class but rebounded with a strong second to Unspun on last in Overnight. Drawn wide, but now back in rhythm and expected to contend.
15 – UNRULY MO
Completed his conditions just a week ago. Steps into Overnight for the first time and will need time to adjust.
THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VERDICT
Run Julie Run returns to a class where she holds clear advantage. Her record against higher-tier rivals and comfort over the mile make her the standout. Divine Force, despite the layoff, has proven consistency and class, while Is That A Fact benefits from the apprentice claim and could be dangerous late. Supremasi and Sheer Delight are both seasoned at this level and should be considered for minor shares. Intrestntimesahead, drawn wide, is back in form and could hold strong. .

race talk can be confusing..like overnite allowance is this class A2 which would be easier understood by all.. in the U.S its grade 2 ,canthis be changed for the general public, some will agree with me 100%.
A 1 Is Grade 1 - Open Allowance is more like A2, while Overnight is like C Class - Best I Can do
