Jockeys Dane Nelson and Linton Steadman both visited the winners’ enclosure over last weekend at the Century Mile race track in Canada.
On Friday, August 15, Nelson guided horse number two Race Home trained by Gonzalo Anderson to victory in the seventh race.
The post-race report reads as follows: “RACE HOME pressed the pace from the rail, gained the lead, moved clear into the final turn, and opened up under light handling.”
On Saturday, August 16, in race seven, Steadman piloted horse number six, Magnificent Mario trained by Rodney Cone to victory.
The post-race report reads as follows: “MAGNIFICENT MARIO angled to the rail in the opening turn, rated well off the early pacesetters, took closer order leaving the backstretch, swung four wide in the final turn, swept the lead and drove clear.”
