KINGSTON, Jamaica - The fifth event on Saturday, March 15, 2025, is for three-year-old maidens, at four furlongs.

Nine horses were originally entered, but Primo Suprema has been declared a late non-starter.

The Quick Galloper’s analysis is published below for the perusal of readers on this website.

1 - QUEEN LATEPHA is a bay filly (April 5) by Casual Trick out of Gold Price, trained by Gregg Fennell with Omar Walker in the saddle. Note that Queen Latepha races with a tongue tie on. She has the benefit of five previous outings, improving with each run. Finished second, five lengths adrift of Linguist on last. With this experience, Queen Latepha is given the edge, especially with several newcomers in the starting line-up.

2 - CHASING MY DREAM is a chestnut filly (March 17) by Seeking My Dream out of Full Throttle, trained by Jason DaCosta with Jerome Innis at the reins. The learning curve associated with competitive racing begins for Chasing My Dream.

3 - PRIMO SUPREMA is a bay filly (January 27) by Bold Conquest out of Primo Extremo, trained by Jason DaCosta with Robert Halledeen in the saddle. Primo Suprema is a late non-starter.

4 - CANDI GIRL is a chestnut filly (April 1) by Sensational Slam out of Sweetie Girl, trained by Byron Davis with Tevin Foster aboard. Reports from morning onlookers suggest a reasonable first run is expected for Candi Girl.

5 - GIANT VIGOROUS is a bay filly (January 9) by Here Comes Ben out of Glorious Cause, trained by Rowan Mathie Jr with Matthew Bennett holding the reins. The senior citizen in this contest with seven starts under her belt, Giant Vigorous is not close to a winning run.

6 - STAR QUEST is a bay colt (March 28) by Northern Giant out of Thegirlnextdoor, trained by Jason DaCosta with Garvin Harris riding. Another of the newbies, Star Quest has shown promise in morning workouts, and with the doors wide open in this event, he deserves consideration, especially as the apprentice gains a four-kilogramme advantage.

7 - SECRET SENSATION is a chestnut colt (April 16) by Sensational Slam out of Secret Cat, trained by Carl Anderson with Akeem Grant at the reins. He has lagged behind in his two outings so far, and no change is expected.

8 - LIFE IS LIGHT is a chestnut filly (February 10) by Hedge Fund out of Necromancer, trained by Gary Griffiths with Chris Mamdeen riding. After two starts, Life Is Light has a considerable distance to cover in her development.

9 - BIG BUZZ is a bay colt (April 15) by Buzz Nightmare out of Lady Tarkari, trained by Adrian Prince with Oneil Mullings in the saddle. This newcomer has shown encouraging signs during training and should be given due consideration for a strong performance in exotic wagers.
